My Favorites

Here’s my ever-growing list of favorite exercise and nutrition “gadgets”

  • The Blender Bottle - I love this for my morning smoothies.  My husband and I make our smoothies in the same blender and he doesn’t like when I add chia seeds or flax.  With this, I can add them after, shake it, and the wire ball in the bottom mixes it.
  • The Stick - This is great for after a tough workout or run.  Now I don’t have to bug my hubby to rub my sore hamstrings or get the knot out of my calf.
  • My Breadman Breadmaker - making bread just got easier.  If I don’t have time, I can throw everything in and let it go, or I can just use it as a mixer if I want to form the loaves myself.
  • GMaps Pedometer - with this website I can plan out my run before I leave the house.
  • Agave Nectar - Not really a “gadget” but I love to use this for a substitute for honey.  The glycemic index is a lot lower than honey which is great for my blood sugar.
  • My Running Log - The Log has EVERYTHING.  I love that it’s an excel spreadsheet so I don’t have to have internet access every time I want to log a run.  (You can download it all the way at the bottom – it’s the “logrun.xls”
  • Nexcare waterproof tape - this stuff is AMAZING for blisters, black toe nails, and any other problem a runner gets on their feet.  I get mine at Target in the pharmacy, but it has to be the tan colored foam tape.
  • Clif Shot Bloks - I CANNOT eat the gel shots – it doesn’t matter what brand.  I just hate the texture.  These are easy to eat and still provide the energy I need for a run.  Some of them even have a little caffeine in them.
  • Tupperware containers – I use the Midgets and the Smidgets sizes.  These are awesome to take to take on the go.  I use them for peanut butter, flax seed, chia seed, salad dressing, vitamins, and lots of other stuff.
  • My Nike running skirt - Super cute!  Never thought I would be the kind of girl the run in a skirt.
  • A zester - I think this is easier to use then a hand-held zester.
  • A reamer – makes juices limes, lemons, and oranges SO much easier.
  • A tomato corer - I use this on tomatoes and strawberries.
